Union Home Secretary G K Pillai on Saturday said the blast at the Germany Bakery in Pune was most probably a terror attack.

Pillai said, a team of National Investigation Agency is being sent to Pune. Also, a team of CBI forensic officials is also being sent, he added.

Reacting to the Pune blast which killed nine and injured 45, Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan said "we have to be cautious and alert" but there was no reason to panic.

"We have to be cautious and alert. But there is no reason to panic," Chavan said.

Preliminary information suggests that this "seems to be some sort of a blast," he said.

Forensic experts have reached the spot, he said. Police Commissioner has said that till the entire place is searched, it won't be alright to comment, he added.

Asked if there was any information of Pune being on the terror hit list, Chavan said "I will check that."

Home Minister P Chidambaram will visit Pune on Sunday to assess the situation after the blast.

All Karnataka-bound trains from Pune are being searched for suspects at Kolhapur station.

Five suspects have been taken by Pune Police into custody. The hunt is on for Indian Mujahideen militant Mohsin Chaudhary, police sources said.
