Chennai: The Madras High Court today dismissed a petition by a Hindu organisation seeking a direction from the court to the state government not to give permission to Muslim outfits for taking out processions or organizing any other event on the Babri Masjid demolition anniversary day on December 6.
In its petition, Hindu Munnetra Kalagam (HMK) had sought a direction from the court to the Chief Secretary and the DGP not to give permission to various Muslims organisations, including Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kalagam, for taking out processions or any other event in the name of Babri Masjid demolition anniversary day.
Dismissing the petition, Justice V Ramasubramanian said yesterday only he had directed authorities to grant permission to Hindu Munnani to hold demonstrations on December 6.
“It is completely unehtical and unlawful to deny permission to a organisation for holding opposite point of view”, the Judge said.
