Junagarh, Gujarat, Sept 12: The Gujarat government has ordered a probe into 23 children suffering from Thalassemia infected with HIV blood.
The joint director and a deputy director of Health department have been asked to inquire into the circumstances leading to HIV infection.
The children suffering from Thalassemia were given blood from the Junagarh district hospital.
State Health Minister Jainarayan Vyas has said that the children in question were already infected with HIV and not because of the blood given by the district hospital.
