Jammu, Jan 26: Fourty policemen of Jammu and Kashmir were awarded with President's Police Medal for Gallantry, Police Medal for Gallantry, President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service, Police Medal for Meritorious Service .
The state government also announced Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medal for Gallantry and Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medal for Meritorious Service for 8 police personnel who rendered meritorious services.
The President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service was awarded to Mohammad Sulaiman Salaria, Inspector General of Police, PHQ, and Jagdish Lal Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police , CID SB, Jammu, a spokesman said.
SP (Ops) Baramulla Zubair Ahmed Khan, Head Constable Shabir Ahmad, Follower Abdul Ahad Malik and Head Constable were awarded Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medal for Gallantry.
Besides, the Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medal for Meritorious Service was awarded to H K Lohia IGP Director SSG, Deepak Kumar IGP State Vigilance ORG, Shahzada Parveen Dy SP PCR and Tasaduq Hussain Shah, ASI (STC Sheeri), he said.
