New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee will today pay a state visit to Bhutan at the invitation of the King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck. This is going to be the first bilateral visit by a President of India to Bhutan in 26 years.
The President will be accompanied by a high level delegation including Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha, four Members of Parliament(MPs), senior officials and senior representatives from educational and academic institutions.
President Mukherjee's visit is expected to further expand the bilateral partnership and strengthen the close bonds that exist between the India and Bhutan, according to a statement published by the Ministry of External Affairs.
