Nagpur, Feb 7: Polling is continuing in 27 district zila panchayats including Nagpur and Thane today.
Tight security is in place with nearly 4,000 policemen and two battalions of Home Guards on the job. 312 polling booths have been declared sensitive and six booths declared highly sensitive in Nagpur.
Voting will take place on Feb 16 for 10 municipal corporations including Mumbai, Nagpur and Thane. These elections to local bodies are being described as a mini-Assembly polls.
Police have seized Rs 6 lakhs worth liquor meant for distribution among voters by candidates.
