New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's reluctance to accept Z-plus security has prompted Delhi police to re-organise the security apparatus for him. Delhi police said that it will provide security arrangements to the CM as per his convenience.
The chief minister of Delhi is entitled to Z-plus security but Kejriwal has refused any kind of security cover. Even during his last inning as the chief minister he refused security. He currently has Z security cover.
Kejriwal met Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi on his first day in Office. The meeting was to discuss the overall security issue of Delhi. Kejriwal had made Delhi's security, particularly women security, his top agenda in the recently held elections that his party swept.
On the issue of CM's security, Bassi said that adequate security arrangements will be made keeping in mind the comfort and convenience of Kejriwal.
After Aam Aadmi Party swept the assembly elections winning 67 out of 70 seats, it denied that CM will not take increased security as it promotes VIP culture. AAP leader Ashutosh had said last week that the Z-plus security will hinder Kejriwal's public interaction.
