Kolkata: A pillar on a platform at the busy Howrah station in West Bengal collapsed on Monday creating pandemonium during rush hour traffic. However, no injury or disruption in train services was reported, an official said.
"A pillar at platform number 14 collapsed today (Monday).
There was a brief pandemonium but nobody was injured. Train services are operating smoothly," an Eastern Railway spokesperson said.
The incident took place when the down Kalka Mail was leaving the platform.
