Mughalsarai (UP): Passengers travelling in the Patna-New Delhi Rajdhani Express had a miraculous save on Saturday midnight, when the shocker of an AC 3-tier coach broke down at Chandauli near Mughalsarai.
The train was stranded for several hours, as railway officials hunted for a replacement coach, which was not available at Mughalsarai junction.
A travelling ticket examiner B P Singh said, there were no spare Rajdhani coaches in Mughalsarai, and several passengers were accomodated inside the pantry car.
"The passengers will be refunded as per rules, because there was technical fault in the AC-3tier coach", he said.
Passengers complained that no senior Railway officials came to the scene to find a solution.
"Had the Rajdhani been running, a major accident could have occurred", said a passenger Mohammed Rizvi.
