New Delhi: Union Food and Public Distribution Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today warned Bihar government for delaying in raising Center provided food grains. This delay has led to scarcity of food among poor people of the state, he blamed.
Bihar government has to raise nearly 30 thousand tons of food grains daily and the government has already transported state's food grain quota via 48 rail racks, informed Paswan.
This food grain quota is for the month of April, May and June but the state government is able to raise only 6.8 racks of food grain so far.
Paswan further said that he has talked to the Bihar Chief Minister and state food minister over the issue but could not get any positive response from them.
Now, he has set the deadline of 31 august for the state government and has warned it to raise the food grains before that. Otherwise, center would not be responsible for the future.
The food minister also showed concern that Bihar government's unwillingness will result in open market selling of food grains instead of distributing among the beneficiary .
