New Delhi: After insisting on including Kashmir in Indo-Pak NSA talks that finally led to cancellation of Sartaj Aziz's India visit, Pakistan has now made a U-turn by saying that it never wanted the two NSAs to discuss Kashmir.

Abdul Basit, Pakistan High Commissioner to India, made these claims while speaking to a news channel.

"We didn't want the NSAs to discuss Jammu and Kashmir, but we had proposed that the foreign secretaries can meet separately and discuss the modalities for talks on other outstanding issues including Kashmir. But, the Indian side didn't agree to the proposal," Basit told the news channel.

It should be recalled that Pakistan had called off the NSA talks after India made it clear that Kashmir will not be on the agenda of NSA talks.

Sartaj Aziz, Pakistan PM's advisor on national security and foreign affairs, had insisted that the 'K' word must be on the agenda which India rejected saying NSA talks, as per Ufa understanding, were meant to discuss 'terror' only.

Basit also said that the recent telephone bills of gangster Dawood Ibrahim, indicating that he was in Pakistan, were fake.

"If he was in Pakistan, he would have been deported," he said.

Pakistani envoy also said that the language of war should not be used anymore and talks of "hot pursuit" and "surgical strikes" should be stopped.
