Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik on Wednesday created a sand sculpture about the protest against the movie "My Name Is Khan" and players on Puri sea beach in Orissa.
Sudarsan Pattnaik through his art appealed to the people not to target art, artists, sports and players as these were the epitomes of national integration and good relationship between countries.
Says Pattnaik: “I condemn these protests against Shah Rukh's film”.
Pattnaik used 12 tones of sand and took 7 hours to create a sand sculpture of 30 ft long film reel rounding Bollywood. There is a cricket bat with a message "Don't Blame Player and Artist".
Students of Pattnaik's sand art school joined hands with him to create this sculpture.
Sudarsan Pattnaik has so far participated in more than 39 international sand sculpture championships across the world and won many awards for the country.
Through his art he helped the tsunami victims in India, highlighted the endangered Olive Ridley Turtles and spread awareness about the danger from HIV-AIDS and polio.
