Bhopal: Food safety officer of Guna district in Madhya Pradesh has issued notices to Bollywood actors Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar and south Indian star Mahesh Babu for promoting soft drink Thums Up.
This came after samples of Thums Up were found to be 'misbranded' by Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Naveen Jain, food safety officer, said all three were aggressively advertising a misbranded product.
Samples were collected from Anil Traders in Ruthiai village of the district on April 1 and sent for tests in Bhopal.
Reports stated that a flavouring substance was found during testing at FDA lab in Bhopal.
It also said that the details were not displayed on the bottle label.
