An avid Noida mountaineer and the third youngest Indian to climb Mt. Everest – Arjun Vajpai – recently posted a video showing avalanches in mountains caused due to earthquake on his Facebook account, and in turn received over 1.5 lakh views and counting.

The mountaineer has reported the video (given below) from the base camp of Mt. Makalu – in the Himalayas on the China-Nepal border – where the earthquake caused avalanches.

The mountaineer had been posting such videos since the time he started his expedition however; however, this one was soon after the earthquake, hence has been taken serious by many including his own near and dear ones.

Bajpai had been there with several other mountaineers and has explained the avalanches behind him in the 43 second long video. Through this he has also conveyed a message to the relatives of the mountaineer group that all of them are safe so far, though the ones who have climbed a camp one level above have still not reported to them.

He said he will be collecting their whereabouts soon. Meanwhile, in the rest of the video, Bajpai has shown the after effect of landslides on Mt. Makalu. According to him, there had been rock fall and landslide soon after the quake. The mountaineer was well-aware of the Earthquake which has till date caused massive damage in Nepal.

According to Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, the earthquake death toll is expected to touch 10,000 mark.
