Noida bus accident: In a tragic accident, one person was killed and more than 10 passengers injured after a bus collided with a container vehicle due to heavy fog in Uttar Pradesh's Gautam Buddh Nagar on Tuesday morning. According to police, the accident was reported in the Dankaur area and added the injured passengers were rushed to a hospital in Gautam Buddh Nagar. The bus was reportedly carrying more than 60 passengers.
Delhi, Noida experiencing dense fog
It is worth mentioning the Delhi-Noida region has been experiencing dense fog for the past two days, resulting in low visibility on the roads. Moreover, extreme pollution in the area has also reduced visibility even in the daytime. According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) in the national Capital on Tuesday morning was 378, which is in the 'very poor' category. This resulted in fatal road accidents.
Low visibility on roads
Earlier on Sunday, at least a dozen people were injured after more than 20 vehicles collided on the Ambala-Saharanpur highway in Yamuna Nagar. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), fog-induced very low visibility was reported on Tuesday till 5:30 am from Bathinda (00), Amritsar, Ganganagar, Patiala, Delhi (Palam) and Lucknow (25), and Purnea (50m), Ambala and Agra (200m), Gorakhpur (300m), Bareilly, Patna, Gaya and Kolkata (500m).
