New Delhi: Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, in a bizarre statement, alleged that he was denied a Nobel Prize because he is black.
According to media reports, Ramdev, during a yoga event in Ranchi, stated that he would have been honoured with the Nobel Prize by now if it wasn't for the colour of his skin.
"If I would have been a fair-skinned person, the Nobel Prize would have been awarded to me till now for my work in the field of yoga. But, it has been denied to me because I am black", Ramdev said.
Ramdev said that there was no lobbying from India for Nobel prizes. He claimed that he has cured many diseases- from cancer to Hepatitis B, yet he has been denied a Nobel Prize.
However, Ramdev added that he didn't wish for a Nobel Prize.
As per the reports, the statement by yoga guru came during an event in which Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das was also present.

Born as Ramkrishna Yadav in Haryana, Baba Ramdev is known for popularising yoga, not only among Indians but also outside.
He is the founder of Patanjali Group, a company that produces several Ayurvedic medicines and some other herbal products.
Known as a vocal Narendra Modi supporter, Ramdev was also associated with 2011 anti-corruption.
