Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman admitted to AIIMS, Delhi

According to hospital sources, Nirmala Sitharaman, 63, was admitted to AIIMS private ward around noon.

Nirmala Sitharaman health news: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi on Friday. According to sources, Sitharaman was admitted to AIIMS private ward around noon.

According to sources, the 63-year-old leader was admitted to the private ward of All India Institute of Medical Sciences for a routine checkup. Sitharaman paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at his samadhi 'Sadaiv Atal' in Delhi on his birth anniversary yesterday (December 25).

She had also participated in a convocation ceremony in a university in Tamil Nadu recently. Speaking at the event she  said that India has now emerged as the pharmacy of the world. Because the country produces world class medicine at affordable cost. Nirmala Sitharaman had been attending Parliament Winter Session which concluded last week, six days ahead of schedule.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has been on marathon pre-budget consultations, holding meetings with industry chamber heads and infrastructure experts about their expectations from the upcoming Budget. All eyes are on Sitharaman who is scheduled to present her fifth straight Budget on February 1 for the fiscal starting April, 2023. In the last budget, she had unveiled a massive public spending programme to support the economy, emerging out of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Economic Survey for 2022–2023 would be released before the budget.
