Jaipur: Cyclone Nilofar, developing in the Arabian Sea, would have mild affect in Rajasthan's border districts of Barmer, Jalore and Jodhpur on its arrival later this week, a MeT official said on Tuesday.
The cyclone which was still away from Kutch in Gujarat was getting weak and wind speed was around 67 km per hour, chief MeT official B N Vishnoi told PTI.
"As per today's speed, its arrival would be delayed from October 30-31 to November one as it is located at Kutch- Naliya, and it would likely to strike Rajasthan's border districts of Barmer, Jalore and Jodhpur after November one", Vishnoi said.
"There would likely to be a mild affect of Nilofar in Rajasthan, and there would be wind speed of 20 to 30 km accompanied with showers after November one", he said.
"Nilofar could cause damage to crops like Bajra, Gawar, Moong cereal, and Soya bean which were harvested and lying in the open field, and for this there should be a warning for farmers to take it to a warehouse storage at the earliest", he said.
Mild cold winds would be tolerable to public, but risky for farmers whose crop produce was lying in the fields or open place, he said.
