    EAM Jaishankar to visit Kenya from June 12 to 14: MEA

    External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will pay a three-day visit to Kenya beginning Saturday with an aim to explore ways to further broaden ties between the countries. Announcing Jaishankar's visit from June 12 to 14, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Tuesday that the minister and his Kenyan counterpart will co-chair the third meeting of the India-Kenya joint commission that will review all aspects of bilateral ties.

    The external affairs minister is visiting Kuwait from June 9 to 11.

    Over 10,000 people got jobs in May alone: Maharashtra minister

    The Maharashtra government on Tuesday said it helped more than 10,000 unemployed people get jobs in May this year.

    "The skills development department has undertaken various programmes such as organising job fairs where unemployed people could meet officials of industries and corporates. It helped 10,886 unemployed persons get jobs in May this year," Maharashtra Skills Development Minister Nawab Malik said in a statement.

    Israel's parliament speaker has scheduled a vote for Sunday on a new government that would end Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's 12-year rule, the longest in the country's history.

    Parliament speaker Yariv Levin, a Netanyahu ally, announced the timing of the vote on Tuesday, a day after acknowledging that a coalition had been formed.

    Sensex, Nifty end marginally lower

    Equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty ended marginally lower on Tuesday following losses in index majors HDFC twins, Reliance Industries and ICICI Bank amid a weak trend in Asian markets.

    The 30-share BSE Sensex slipped 52.94 points or 0.10 per cent to 52,275.57. Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty declined 11.55 points or 0.07 per cent to 15,740.10.

    SBI was the top loser in the Sensex pack, shedding over 1 per cent, followed by HDFC duo, Kotak Bank, PowerGrid and ICICI Bank. On the other hand, Tech Mahindra, Bharti Airtel, Infosys and HCL Tech were among the gainers.
