Ghaziabad, Dec 8 : Former UP Chief Secretary Neera Yadav, who has been sentenced to a four-year jail term by a special CBI court in a Noida land scam case, spent her first night in in women's general cell of Dasna prison and was served jail food.
62-year-old Yadav, who was Chief Executive Officer in Noida in 1992-94, was sentenced along with Flex industries owner Ashok Chaturvedi yesterday, was served chapati and dal for dinner. She was given bread and tea for breakfast, Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma told PTI.
Outside food was not allowed due to security reasons, he said.
Following an order by the CBI court, the IAS officer was allowed to take medicines for her blood pressure.
Yadav, who had yesterday complained of chest pain but was later found fit, underwent a medical examination this morning.
Yadav is the second Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, who has been indicted on charges of corruption. PTI
