Mumbai, Feb 6: Miffed at being denied permission to hold election rally at Shivaji Park in central Mumbai, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray today said “best friends” NCP and Shiv Sena were indulging in politics to prevent him from campaigning.
“NCP and Shiv Sena, who are best friends are indulging in politics to prevent me from campaigning,” Raj told reporters here.
When asked how he plans to hold rallies in Mumbai, He said he would hit the roads soon to canvass for his candidates.
Hitting out at the government especially Home Minister R R Patil of the NCP, Raj said the government allowed Shiv Sena to hold Dassera rally at Shivaji Park but not allowing me to hold an election rally.
The court recently disallowed MNS from holding an election rally at Shivaji Park based on communication received from the state government as the area is marked as ‘silence zone'.
