New Delhi: The Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry in its latest circular has stated that it is going to induct Sanjeev Bikhchandani, the founder of Naukri.com on its panel of Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE).
The decision by the government is seen as a move to combine employment and education for including it in larger policy formulation.CABE is the advisory board which looks after the education system in the country and makes plans and ideas for the betterment of education system in the country.
The three year term of the board members is going to end on May 2015 and the HRD ministry has till now finalized twenty of the nominated members in the body.
According to sources in the HRD Ministry Bhikchandani is included to put impetus on tying employability with education and not just focusing on mere academics. The CABE was constituted by the erstwhile UPA government in 2012.
It constituted of four people from the industry” representing interest in education, six academicians/scientist, five nominees who represent school education, two representing creative arts, one representing minority educational institutions, four representing different languages and two representatives from the media.
