Agra: A record 20,091 cases were settled Saturday at the National Lok Adalat organised at the Agra Civil Court, and more than Rs.4 crore collected in fines and penalties, officials said.
A large number of family disputes were settled by Additional District Judge Sudip Bannerjee who united 18 families, while District Judge Shashi Kant resolved a large number of accident cases, helping victims collect compensation.
The nodal judge for the Lok Adalat settled 39 cases, while Chief Judicial Magistrate Anil Kumar was able to sort out more than 5,000 bank related disputes.
