New Delhi/Kolkata/Bhopal: Christmas is being celebrated throughout the nation today with gaiety and traditional fervour. In addition to singing of carols, exchange of greetings and gifts, special midnight mass were held throughout the country.
Christmas is celebrated on December 25 each year to mark the birth of Jesus Christ.
Special programmes were held at all churches in New Delhi. Churches were decorated with beautiful stuff signifying the Christmas festivity. People flocked to the nearest church and exchanged gifts on the occasion.

In Kolkata, people welcomed Jesus Christ by decorating enormous Christmas trees, lit candles and played hymns.
In Bhopal, a special catwalk programme was organised for small kids to mark the celebrations.
President, Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President, Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, have greeted the countrymen on the occasion of Christmas.
