Ujjain, Jul 1: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today took part in a special puja (Vishesh Anushthan) at the famous Mahakaleshwar Temple, which is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas in the country, here.
He also offered puja in the sanctum-sanctorum.
Temple sources said that Modi had expressed wish to perform a special puja, and today he came to take part in its conclusion.
On this occasion, he also took part in the Special Puja being performed at the temple for the good rains in the country, they said, adding that later he also offered prayers at Harsiddhi and Kaal Bhairav temples in the city.
Modi also launched the Madhya Pradesh Government's ‘School Chalo' and cleanliness campaigns while in the city and planted a sapling in the University campus. The state Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, too was present on the occasion.
Modi praised the state government's ‘Laadli Laxmi' scheme and said that several states had emulated it. PTI
