New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday told his Malaysian counterpart Mohammad Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak that there was "justifiable outrage" at the Malaysia Airlines plane crash and India fully supports an investigation into the incident.
In a letter to the Malaysian prime minister, Modi said there is "justifiable outrage across the world and India fully supports efforts for an investigation that can help establish the exact circumstances" in which the incident took place.
Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, a Boeing 777, crashed in the conflict-hit Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine while flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur Thursday afternoon killing all 298 aboard.
Modi also referred to the tragedy that befell Malaysian airlines flight 370 some months ago, mentioning that there is "still no closure" on that incident.
