It is learnt that the sections most visited by foreigners will be fixed on urgent basis.
If the sources are believed, ghats like Dashashwamedh, Rajendra Prasad, Shitla, Kedar, Man Mandir, Tripurbhairavi along with many others will be chosen for trial.
At present , there is lack of changing rooms and bathing space for pilgrims, haphazard parking of boats, broken steps and stone walkway to the Vishwanath Mandir, poor quality of takhts (where the priests or pandas sit), too many overhead cables in the bylanes of Vishwanath Mandir, damaged umbrellas used by the 'pandas', lack of signages and drinking water facilities.
According to a report republished in the Economic Times Tourism Minister Sripad Yesso Naik said that the Varanasi Municipal Corporation will also be involved in the working and the companies might get advertisement space in return at the ghats.
The details of this are being presently worked out and should be finalised by the time we ready our plan of action for the first 100 days," Naik said as quoted by ET.
Top groups that might nominate themselves for the crucial task are the Taj and Lalit hotel teams.
