Modi govt's New year resolution: Clean India, Green India

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA government Tuesday released  calendar for the year 2015. The calendar was launched by Union finance minister Arun Jaitley.

The theme of next year's calendar is ‘Clean India Green India'. It highlights various aspects of  'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' and issues concerning the environment. As usual, it has information related to important days, holidays and restricted holidays.

Speaking on the occasion, Information and Broadcasting (I&B), Arun Jaitley, said that soon a mobile phone app of the calendar will be launched.

“The same calendar will be available in a digital form. You don't have to pay for this as it will be available to your via technology and will remain in your pocket. You will also be enabled to avail the services of government via several apps like news from All India and PIB etc,” he said.

It is designed by Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP), a nodal agency undertaking multi-media advertising and publicity of various ministries.

Given below are the month-wise details of Union govt's 2015 calendar:

January depicts the launch of the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' by the PM.

February month is based on the aspect – Swachh Vidyalaya Swachh Bharat and also the launch of Bal Swachhta Mission highlighting hygiene in school going children and the cleanliness of the schools.

March month depicts Rejuvenating Rivers and April month talks about Clean Hospitals.

 
Similarly, May month depicts the cleanliness drive by the Railways for Clean Trains and hygienic platforms.

June is dedicated to Namami Gange. July month highlights the necessity of people participation and initiative in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to achieve the goal of litter free India.

August is based on the aspect of Clean Village and proper sanitation facilities all over rural India.

September month talks of Solar Power as clean and renewable source of energy.

October depicts Wind Power as plentiful and pollution free source, with stress on projects in hilly and coastal areas.

November month talks of protecting the Himalayan Rangers as they are the nerve centre of the country's climate and

December month shows boost to aforestation and protection of wildlife.
