Surat: A local court yesterday remanded an aide of controversial godman Asaram's fugitive son Narayan Sai in four-day police custody in connection with sexual assault case lodged against the father-son duo.
The police today produced Dharmendra Pariyar, alias Dharmesh, arrested from Delhi on Friday, before an additional senior civil court judge and sought his remand for 14 days. However, the judge remanded him in police custody till October 24.
Dharmesh, who was in-charge of Asaram's ashram on Ridge Road in Central Delhi, was apprehended from his hideout in a joint operation by Crime branch of Delhi Police and Gujarat Police.
He was brought to the city for questioning after being produced before a Delhi court, police said.
Police sought the remand on the ground that thorough interrogation of Dharmesh is needed since he is the close aide of Narayan Sai who has been evading arrest.
