Union Telecom Minister A Raja, who is at the centre of the alleged 2G spectrum scandal, on Friday asserted that his conscience was clear over the issue and that he was answerable to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M Karunanidhi.
"I am answerable to my Prime Minister and my leader Karunanidhi. My conscience is clear," the DMK leader told reporters at the airport on his arrival in Chennai.
However, Raja refused to take further queries on the 2G spectrum issue, saying "I have no comments about it."
During his recent trip to Delhi, Karunanidhi had strongly batted for Raja, saying "dominant forces are levelling malicious charges against him because he is a Dalit."
Opposition parties, including BJP, CPI(M) and AIADMK have been gunning for Raja, asking for his resignation in the wake of the allegations but Karunanidhi has ruled out the same. PTI
