Mumbai: A  41-year-old woman  Jayashree Kanam and her 15-year-old daughter Shweta from an Andheri slum are due to take their SSC exam together this year.

Very strong  will power is required to appear for any competitive exam after a break from studies and Jayashree Kanam  seems to be a determined woman.

Jayashree lost her husband Jayant Kanam in the 26/7 deluge of 2005. Since then she had been working very hard to fulfill the basic needs of the family and provide education to her daughters.

She cooks food in other people's houses and works at Anganwadi too.
