Mangalore: Multiple claimants for the same body continued to pose problems for officials at a hospital here on the third day of the Air India Express flight crash, which claimed the lives of 158 passengers.

In one such case, Diana Fernandes, sister-in-law of Ignatius D'Souza, claimed his body as his wife was in trauma after the tragedy.

Meanwhile, three more claimants for D'Souza's body emerged, sources at Government Wenlock hospital, where the bodies are kept, said.

D'Souza is survived by wife and two children -- Praneeta D'Souza, studying in 12th standard and Chris Garry D'Souza in the seventh standard.

Officials have taken DNA samples of the claimants and sent them for analysis.

In another instance, there were two claimants for the body of Mohammed Ismail.

One person withdrew his claim after DNA samples were taken, the sources said, adding police would decide the issue after receiving the DNA report.

Meanwhile, a team from Kenyon International Emergency Services, a US-based global disaster management company, visited the crash site.

The team, whose role was not known, declined to talk to the media.

A two-member team from Boeing that arrived here has sought access to the crash site from DGCA. PTI
