Bhopal: With an aim to provide direct connectivity between Madhya Pradesh and United Arab Emirates (UAE), the state government has inked an MoU with Air Arabia to start a flight from Indore soon.
The MoU was signed on behalf of the state government by MP Trade and Investment Facilitation Corporation Limited's (TRIFAC) Managing Director D P Ahuja and Air Arabia's Regional Manager (India) Sachin Nene in the presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan yesterday, a senior official said.
The Chief Minister, during his recent road show in UAE ahead of the three-day-long Global Investors Summit in Indore scheduled to begin from October 8, held a discussion on the issue with Air Arabia's Regional Manager (UAE) Shalini Rajan, following which the MoU was signed, the official said today.
The direct flights from Indore will be started soon after getting all necessary clearances from the concerned authorities, including immigration and Customs, he said.
State industries department's principal secretary Mohammad Suleiman and secretary to Chief Minister, S K Mishra were among others present on the occasion.
