New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on his maiden trip to New York as leader of the world's most populous democracy, will perhaps draw much attention then ever by a foreign leader on US soil when he will address the UN Assembly.
He is unarguably a good orator, who can spontaneously strike the right chord with the crowds and instantly annoy his rivals. It will be interesting to see how Mr. Modi, who is known for his unique slogans and quotes, will address the UN senators.
What if he uses his famous election slogans? Will Obama like it?
Let us imagine the scenario….
1. Na khaunga na khane dunga
PM Modi is on Navratri fast so he won't eat but that doesn't mean Obama family and his compatriots will also starve for complete nine days.
Much popular in India, this dialogue of PM Narendra Modi might backfire in USA.
2. Main khud jhaadu lagunga
This highly talked about dialogue ahead of launch of “Swach Bharat Abhiyan” in India might not be a hit in America.
Modi: Me khud jhaadu lagunga!
UN Assembly: But, the streets are already cleaned, Sir!
3. Congress free America!
PM Modi's habit of chanting “Congress free Bharat” slogan might prove problematic for him if he accidentally utters the same in America too. The US Congress will not at all like this thing from the esteemed guest.
4. My ‘Secular' friends
Remembering secular friends on US visit is certainly not a good idea for PM Narendra Modi. Hearing his ‘political satires', the senators might go whispering “Ye secular-secular kya hai… Ye secular-secular kya hai”. (Fugly-fugly tune)
5. 'I am a Chaiwala'
Modi: Bhaayio aur behno, me ek ‘chiawala' hoon
UN Assembly: Weren't we supposed to be addressed by the Prime Minister of India, who is this chaiwala?
