New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday had a telephonic conversation with Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott and told him that his recent visit to India touched the heart of every Indian.
A PMO statement said Abbott thanked Modi for the warm reception and hospitality accorded to him during his visit to India earlier this month.
He also conveyed his sympathy and solidarity over the floods in Jammu and Kashmir.
The statement said the two prime ministers agreed to actively follow up the decisions reached at their meeting.
"The prime minister said that during his visit, Prime Minister Abbott had touched the heart of every Indian. The visit had resulted in concrete outcomes and added new dimensions to the strategic partnership between India and Australia," the statement said.
Abbott told Modi that a warm welcome awaits him during his bilateral visit to Australia in November 2014 after the G-20 Summit.
The two prime ministers also exchanged views on regional and international developments.
The conversation took place at the request of the Australian side, the statement added.
India and Australia had signed a landmark civil nuclear cooperation agreement during Abbott's visit.
