Guwahati: The Assam State Election Commission yesterday announced the schedule for holding elections to the General Council Constituencies for Mising Autonomous Council and Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council.
With the notification for both the elections being issued yesterday, State Election Commissioner Biren Dutta told the media here that the Mising polls will be held in two phase in October three and seven.
The last date for filing of nomination papers is September 9, scrutiny of nomination papers the next day, last date for withdrawal of candidature is September 12. The counting of votes will be held on October 10.
he constituencies in the first phase are Lali, Murkong Selek, Gali Bijoypur, Debing Detak, Owang Jonai, Sanjari NWGWR, Bhimpora- Boginadi, Ghunasuti- Pub Telahi, Obonori, Pub Dhakuakhana- Matmora, Kherkota- Dangdhara, Luit Pachim, Ranganadi, Dikrong, Jiabharali, Lohitmukh, Dhansiri Disoi, Gelabil Sangga Majuli, Phulani Jokaibowa, Ra-Dang and Rikkong, Jorhat, Disang Dikhow, Dehing Sessa, Sadiya.
The second phase constituencies are Silasuti, Muktier, Ujani Sissi, Namoni Sissi, Sissimukh, Jiadhal, Gogamukh, Nalbari and Mingmang, Dutta said.
For the 26 General Council Constituencies of Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council, the election will be held on September 30 and the counting of votes will be on October 10, he said.
The last date for filing nomination is September 9, date of scrutiny of nomination papers September 10 and last date for withdrawal of candidature on September 12.
