Kolkata: In two different cases of suspected rape and murder, the bodies of a minor girl and a mentally-challenged woman were Sunday recovered in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district, police said.
In the first incident, the body of a 15-year-old girl was found lying near a water body in Basirhat in the district, with the family of the victim alleging that she was raped before being murdered.
"We have sent the body for post-mortem and only after the report can we say if she was raped before being murdered," said an officer of Basirhat police station.
