Akola: A minor girl was raped allegedly by her neighbour in a village in the adjoining Buldhana district of Maharashtra, police said yesterday.
The incident took place on Sunday night in village Warwat Bakal. The accused, Sanghpal Ingle, has been arrested, they said.
The nine-year-old victim's mother sent her daughter to Ingle's house to get Rs 100 from him.
Once the girl entered his house, Ingle locked it from inside and sexually assaulted the minor, police said, adding he also threatened and asked her not to tell anyone about the incident.
Once back home, the girl narrated the incident to her mother, who lodged a police complaint.
