New Delhi, Aug 10: The North Delhi Municipal Corporation today suspended seven employees including five engineers in the bribery case involving Micromax mobiles co-founder Rajesh Agarwal.






"NDMC suspended seven employees today in connection with the Micromax bribery case. The order came this afternoon from our Commissioner with immediate effect," North Delhi Municipal Corporation Public Relations Officer Yogendra Singh Mann told PTI.

The suspended employees are Rajesh Wadhwa, Superintendent Engineer (Civil), A K Singh, Executive Engineer (Civil), R K Sethi, Assistant Engineer (Bldg), Kapil Dev, Junior Engineer (Bldg), all from Civil Lines Zone, and M K Gupta, Assistant Engineer (Civil) (M-I) from Rohini Zone.

The two beldars from Civil Lines Zone are Satish Kumar and Naresh Kumar, he said.

In view of the preliminary report received from CBI regarding irregularities in Building Department in Civil Lines Zone, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation suspended five engineers and two beldars with immediate effect with contemplated or pending criminal or disciplinary proceedings against them, the NDMC Commissioner said in a statement.

The Commissioner in the statement directed all the deputy commissioners and engineers to ensure that no irregularity is carried out in functioning specially in sensitive departments like the building department.

If anybody found indulging in such activities would be dealt sternly, the statement said.
