New Delhi: In view of Diwali festivities, the last Delhi Metro train will operate at 8 PM from all its stations on Thursday including the Airport Express line.
“On account of Diwali festival, the last Metro train service on October 23 (Thursday), will start at 8 PM from terminal stations of all Metro Lines including Airport Express Line-Dilshad Garden, Rithala, Jahangir Puri, Huda City Centre, Noida City Centre, Dwarka Sector-21, Vaishali, Kirti Nagar, Inderlok, Mundka, Central Secretariat, Mandi Hius, Badarpur and New Delhi & Dwarka Sec-21 Metro stations of Airport Express Line,” a statement issued by DMRC said. Metro train services will run as usual for rest of the day on Diwali from 6 AM onwards on all lines and from 4:45 AM on Airport Express Line.
On the occasion of ‘Bhai Duj' on October 25, a Delhi Metro spokesperson said a rise in the number of commuters on the festival is expected, for which two extra trains will be kept on standby on each line to handle the passenger rush.
“In view of the expected rise in the number of commuters using the Delhi Metro on Saturday which is ‘Bhai Duj', the Delhi Metro will keep two extra standby trains on each line to handle the passenger rush, if required,” he said. DMRC will also deploy more Customer Facilitation Agents to help and guide commuters on October 25 at busy Metro stations and will also operate additional ticket counters, if required, to handle the increased load on the ticketing system.
Metro train services on Bhai Duj will be available from 6 AM to 11 PM as usual on all Lines and from 4:45 AM to 11:30 PM on Airport Express Line.
