New Delhi: Modi's marital status has always been a matter of immense speculation. However, he has maintained a stony silence on the issue throughout his political career but now he has admitted under oath that Jashodaben is his wife when he submitted nomination papers for Vadodara Lok Sabha constituency in April 2014.This revelation is getting some positive,some negative reaction from the society and the people and now everybody is interested in knowing who the woman is?Here is her story:Jashodaben Chimanlal Modi is a retired school teacher who was married to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi when she was 17 and separated after about three years.She gets a monthly pension of Rs 14,000, lives mostly with a brother and spends much of her time in prayer.She lost her mother when she was two years old. She was married to Modi in his native village, Vadnagar, in Mehsana district. At the time of her marriage, she had studied only up to Class VII..She quit her studies once she went to his husband's place but later find that his husband wanted her to complete her education.Young Narendera Modi used to spend a lot of time in RSS shakhas and was more devoted to his political ambitions than his family,he never gave time to Jashodaben and later even stopped coming to his own family too because of his busy schedule.Finally Jashodaben left her in-laws house and went back to his father's place, where she again started studying.She did her SSC in 1974, and went on to complete her teachers training in 1976 and became a teacher in 1978.She was later transferred to the District Panchayat School in Roopal village where she worked for 12 years. On 2 December 1991, she came to Rajosana village, where she currently lives.Now a days she starts her day by 4 am and begin with prayers to Ambe Ma (Goddess Durga). She spend all her time in Bhakti (prayer). She has two brothers,who has been her support throughout her life.Whenever media spoke with her about Modi,she never compained about him and has always wished for a bright future to Narendera Modi.She just blame her destiny and bad times for not being with Modi.
