Meerut, Nov 3: The house of an advocate Rakesh Goel was blown up on Friday morning in a mysterious blast. Nobody was there inside the house at that time.
Goel had left for court, while his wife, a school principal, had also left for work.
The roof and walls of the house were blown up in the blast. There were two LPG cylinders inside, which were found intact, otherwise the damage would have been heavier causing a fire.
Fire Brigade inspector R K Rawat said, the blast could have been caused by chemicals stored inside the house.
Chemicals can cause blast if there is a sudden hike in temperature, said an analyst.
Police is trying to ascertain the cause behind the blast.
