Meerut, March 8 : A businessman Kulbhushan Thapar was shot dead outside his house in a property dispute involving his brothers on Monday night, reports India TV reporter Hima Agrawal.
SP Meerut City Prabal Pratap Singh told newsmen that Thapar was involved in a property dispute with his brothers Naresh and Dharamprakash, after which the rival side gave a 'supari' to some criminals to carry out the murder. Both the brothers and Thapar's nephew Ashish have been arrested, but the killers are still at large.
Kulbhushan Thapar owned Bengali Sweets Palace, presently being run by his sons Sonu and Monu. They had another shop in Meerut being run by Naresh and Dharamprakash. The property dispute had been referred to the Company Law Board. On March 1, the brothers were involved in a clash, after which police had arrested one Narendra
Kaushik, who used to work as the steno to an additional District Judge.
