Mumbai: Veteran Marathi actor Kuldeep Pawar passed away on Monday night at Kokilaben Hospital here after suffering from kidney related ailments. He was 62.He was rushed to the hospital on Sunday after his condition deteriorated and he was put on ventilator. He is survived by his wife Nilima, also a theatre person and two sons. The funeral rites will take place at the crematorium in Andheri today. Hailing from Kolhapur, Kuldeep Pawar was one of the celebrated Marathi actors in films and theatres. He worked in several Marathi plays based on historical figures like Ithe Oshalla Mrityu (Sambhaji), Nakatichya Lagnala (Yaksha), Veej Mhanali Dhartila (Tatya Tope), Ashrunchi Jhale Phule (Shambhu Mahadev), Asahi Ek Aurangzeb (Aurangzeb), Lagnachi Bedi (Dr Kanchan), Teen Lakhanchi Gosht (thief), Rakheli (Rao Saheb), Anand (doctor), Honaji Bala (Udajirao).Kuldeep worked in several Hindi and Marathi television serials, notably Paramveer, Tu Tu Main Main, Sansar, Aakrosh. Though he did not act in any Hindi film throughout his career, he would be remembered for his roles in Marathi films like Sarja, Arrey Sansar Sandar, Gosht Dhamal Namyachi, Aaiee, Shaapit, Wajir, Nawra Majha Navsacha, Netaji Palekar, Darodekhor, etc.
