NEW DELHI/MUMBAI: The commander of the ill-fated Air India Express aircraft did not pay heed to his co-pilot's repeated warnings to take off though the aircraft was not stabilised during its approach to land on the Mangalore runway.

The aircraft touched down deep into the runway and the commander applied reverse thrusters only to attempt a take-off again against all the air-safety norms and send the aircraft crashing into the valley on the morning of 22 May.

These findings were revealed in the preliminary air crash investigation report submitted by the Court of Inquiry (CoI) to the ministry of civil aviation on Tuesday.

"The report will be examined by the ministry and will be put up on the directorate general of civil aviation wesbite," said Praful Patel.
