Asked whether the intruders took advantage of the change of units in the area to infiltrate, the corps commander said, change of troops was a continuous process. "Even if there was change of troops, there was no change in the level of our alertness".
The firefighting with the Pakistani intruders has entered Day 9 today (Wednesday).
Army sources said, so far 22 Pakistani intruders in army uniform have been killed and the gunfight was still on.
Since Tuesday night, there has been heavy firing in the area, as the intruders have entered Shala Bhat village and Jumgand village in Krishna Ghati, sources said.
Sources also added that Indian observation posts were unmanned for nearly a week in Lassdutt forest near No Man's Land, and the intruders had taken the posts as shields to fight Indian army.
There were reports that Indian army used helicopter gunships to fight the intruders, but the corps commander rubbished reports of Indian Air Force help being taken.
Sources said, the border observation posts were allegedly captured by men wearing Pakistan army uniforms on the intervening night of September 22-23.
Army jawans noticed suspicious movement of around 30-35 men in posts around Lasdutt forests and sounded a red alert within the grid.
The Army has suspend its communication with all civilian authorities and other intelligence agencies.
