Mumbai: Maharashtra government yesterday decided to reserve five per cent of the posts of police constable for the children of policemen.
The proposal was approved at the meeting of state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, here this evening, official sources said.
While three per cent of the jobs will be for children of serving policemen, two per cent will be for wards of police personnel who died while on duty.
The cabinet also decided to increase the quantum of cash incentive for the Naxals who surrender.
