Bangalore, August 30: The Lokayukta Special Court on Tuesday dismissed the anticipatory bail pleas of former Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy and his wife in connection with alleged irregularities in renewal of mining licence to a firm and allotment of land to a private housing society.
Judge NK Sudhindra Rao rejected the applications. The court on August eight had issued summons to Kumaraswamy and his wife Anita, directing them to appear before it today on a private complaint filed by Advocate Vinod Kumar.
Judge Rao had also ordered issued of summons to Jantakkal Enterprises, a mining firm, which Kumaraswamy has been accused of favouring.
Advocate Vinod Kumar had filed the private complaint alleging that Kumaraswamy had recommended grant of mining licence to Jantakkal company violating norms.
The complainant had alleged that following allotment of land by Kumaraswamy in favour of the housing society during his tenure a chief minister, his wife was benefited by a residential site in return. PTI
