Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Highlights: Campaigning for fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections ends

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman slammed the Congress party and said that its attitude and approach towards terrorism has always been weak and soft. She also said terror incidents were tolerated in the Congress rule. 

Former Andhra Peradesh and Telugu Desam Party chief CM Chandrababu Naidu attacked CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy saying that he is "egoistic, psycho, sadist, destroyer and looter." He also said that YSRCP chief is destroying the future of five crore people of the state.

Union Home Minister along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Varanasi. Both the leaders attended Aarti at the Dashashmedh Ghat.

The election campaigns for the Lok Sabha elections in Telangana ended at 6 PM on Saturday. The voting for 17 seats will take place in the fourth phase of general elections on May 13. The Election Commission has also made arrangements to conduct a bypoll for the Secunderabad (Cantonment) Assembly seat to be held on May 13.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a public rally in Chatra, Jharkhand. During the rally he geeted the people who came to see him.

A day after his release from Tihar jail, Delhi CM and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal along with Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann held a road show in Mehrauli.

During a public rally in Begusarai, UP CM Yogi Adityanath says, " In Bihar, during Lalu Prasad Yadav and Congress' regime, anarchy was at its peak, terrorism and naxalism was increasing, hooliganism was at peak. Lau Yadav wants to take you to the Latin era...we should be going to digital era. We need to make 'Naya Bihar in Naya Bharat' and we need to make the dream of self-reliant and developed India, come true...

On Telangana CM Revanth Reddy's remark about investment in the state, Union Home Minister Amit Shah says "The way he is running the government in Telangana, I don't think anyone is going to go there for investment. If he had a problem, he could have met the Prime Minister and asked for investment. 

Here (Telanaga) the cost of LPG cylinder in Rs.500, in other states like UP, the cost is Rs.1200, said Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi while addressing a public meeting in Tandur, Telangana. She said that in past 10 years, central government led by PM Modi has only worked to provide benefits to capitalists.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has said that only the Modi-led government can solve the problems of Ladakh. There are candidates like from Congress or independent leaders, but they won't be able to do anything even after winning. Because, an MP's role is to participate in the Parliament's debate and work gets done only by the government. We have examined all the demands of Ladakh which we will take forward after elections.

Union Hiome Minister Amit Shah said that till the third phase, NDA has reached nearly 200 seat. In fourth phase the alliance will do good and move towards '400 paar'. He also said that BJP and NDA will sweep Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and when the result will come, BJP will be the biggest political party in Southern India. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public meeting in Bargarh, Odisha.

BJP candidate from Hamirpur Anurag Thakur conducted a roadshow in his constituency.

"Revanth Reddy has made Telangana an ATM for Congress party. PM Modi has sent crores of rupees for the development of Telangana, have your villages received anything?" he said.

"On June 4th, the government will not be formed at the Center without the Aam Aadmi Party. We will form our government," he said.

"Any person who has a little bit of self-respect would not have come out of jail on such kind of bail. He should have told the Supreme Court that I don't want such a bail but Kejriwal has no shame left," he said.

UP CM Yogi addressed an election rally in Kanpur Dehat.

Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi will hold joint rally in Rae Bareli on May 17 to campaign for the latter.

Former SP MLA Omprakash Dubey resigned from Samajwadi Party in a major blow to the party.

Gujarat: Re-polling is being held at polling booth number 220 in Parthampura at Santrampur in Mahisagar district's Dahod. This comes after complaints of booth capturing n May 7.

Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav held a door-to-door campaign in Ujjain.

Andhra Pradesh:  BJP National President JP Nadda visited Tirupati Balaji Temple, Tirumala.

"All the facts have come forth. Some of the scammers are in jail while some are out on bail," he said.

"Results will be unexpected in both look Sabha and State assembly elections and we expect to win all seats in Lok Sabha," he said.

Himachal Pradesh: Union Minister and BJP candidate from Hamirpur Anurag Thakur offered prayers at Shri Awah Devi Mandir.
