New Delhi, Aug 7: The sole surviving soldier in the Jammu and Kashmir ambush was Wednesday brought to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences here and was in an "extremely critical" condition, hospital authorities said.
Lance Naik Sambhaji Kutte was flown to New Delhi and was now in the intensive care unit, trauma centre chief M.C. Misra told IANS.
He said the soldier's liver had become 90 percent non-viable and his kidneys had stopped producing urine since Wednesday morning.
Kutte, who had a bullet injury in his chest, underwent a procedure Wednesday.
Terrorists, some in Pakistani army uniform, early Tuesday ambushed and shot dead five Indian soldiers inside Jammu and Kashmir near the Line of Control.
